Built for simple decisions

Broad enough for the U.P. without overwhelming a new angler.

The Upper Peninsula box carries 78 physical flies in 26 exact pattern-size-color positions, with three copies of every position. The angler starts with Surface, Film, or Subsurface. On the water, adjust Presentation → Depth → Weight → Change Fly. When changing the fly, refine Size → Shape → Color instead of scanning dozens of unrelated patterns.

What the system is designed to do

  • Cover a useful range of Upper Peninsula resident-trout stream situations without splitting the angler into seasonal boxes.
  • Keep the first on-water decision narrow and repeatable.
  • Use River Intelligence for exact-water eligibility, local timing, regulations, access, and temperature ethics.
  • Maintain practical duplicate depth so losing a fly does not remove an entire decision option.
  • Connect the box to the same preparation, rigging, reading-water, adjustment, and fish-care learning path used across River & Ridge.
